Measure Instruments

Instrumat » Measure InstrumentsMeasure, control, improve.

Developing quickly a new product, defining an optimum production process, ensuring a production of steady quality, meeting modern standards of traceability and security: the success of these activities requires access to efficient and reliable measuring instruments. When choosing a measuring technique and a type of instrument, it is essential to get efficient advice because an instrument must not only allow to measure parameters that will best reveal the qualities of a product but it must also be suitable for the working environment.

Particle sizing

In the area of particle sizing (granulometry) we offer instruments to measure powders, emulsions, suspensions and sprays whose particles range from 1nm to 10 cm. Some instruments enable to measure the shape distribution of particles. For very small particles (for example macromolecules and proteins), it is possible to measure the molecular weight, in addition to the size.

We offer solutions for environments of research (R&D), Quality Control and production.

Stability and affinity

Measuring the stability of colloids (pastes, creams, emulsions, suspensions, gels and foams) is essential in many laboratories. Due to the complexity of the phenomena and the slowness of changes, this task is often carried out in an empirical manner. We offer modern and high productivity instruments for the study and measurement of coalescence, sedimentation, creaming and drying. We also offer instruments that measure the zeta potential (electrostatic charge of particles) and which enable to determine stability domains in function of the type of dispersing medium used.

Rheology

The characterization of viscoelastic properties of materials is essential in many scientific areas and in many industries. We offer rheometers adapted to each type of product, from the capillary rheometer capable of producing the high stress necessary for plastic injections to the rotational rheometer (or shear rheometer) capable of determining the yield flow of a weakly-structured gel.

Spectroscopy and radiometry

In the vast area of optical spectroscopy, the solutions that we offer are of interest for the wavelengths ranging from UV (190 nm) to IR (near infrared, around 10 microns). They use single detectors, multichannels CDD detectors, scanning and imaging spectrometers and fiber optic components. These components are assembled to make rapid and compact systems, which enable spectral measures (emission, absorption, transmission, fluorescence). Depending on the software or the elements being used, numerous practical applications such as colorimetry, measurement of thin layers, analysis of chemical composition and structure, and radiometric measurements can be achieved.
